National media member tells on himself for not knowing basic Titans fact
Jamie Sabau-USA TODAY Sports

Stop me if you have heard this before: the national media has zero clue what they are talking about when it comes to the Tennessee Titans.

The latest example of the national media's blatant ignorance to what is going on in Tennessee comes in the form of NBC's Chris Simms. The former NFL quarterback joined Pro Football Focus' Mike Florio as the pair attempted to discuss the Titans' biggest need in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft.

"I think the biggest thing you look at -- I mean tackle is certainly something to think about," Simms began. "I think that's a position there that's still an unknown. You look at it right now, Dillard, he was there. I don't think he's impressed them so much to where they think he's a long-term answer there. They got the big guy Nicholas Petit-Frere from Ohio State they drafted a few years ago. Do they think he's a long term (answer)? There certainly seems to be a void at tackle that's why I think everybody has Joe Alt going there at seven."

It should be noted that Andre Dillard was cut on March 15. Nearly a month has passed since his final day as a member of the Tennessee Titans. I'm unsure of the vacation days policy at NBC Sports, but where in the hell have you been, Chris?

Tennessee has endured a couple of down years, but this is a franchise that rattled off six consecutive winning seasons including four postseason appearances, three playoff wins and two division titles from 2016-2021.

This is an organization that never gets the respect that it deserves from the national media gasbags. Even when Tennessee is winning they're often ignored.

Titans fans have long yearned to be in the forefront of the national media's conversation, but this example should have fans contemplating why that is. Following Simms' recent display of ignorance, Titans fans might rather the team not be discussed at all rather than whatever the hell this was.
